Born in Barcelona (1967), Miguel Olivares studied Fine Arts in the same city before completing his studies in Paris at L´Ecole des Arts Decoratifs. From the beginning of his artistic career, he entered different Painting and Drawing competitions, standing our in all of them for the quality of his work. He has also worked in the areas of sculpture, engraving, installations and new technologies. His large-format murals, made at the request of prestigious public entities, are acknowledged and appreciated.

Throughout his career he has participated in individual exhibitions at different national and international galleries, regularly appearing at the Gallery Jordi Barnadas in Barcelona (1997, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006); Gallery Jorge Albero in Madrid (2002, 2004, 2006) and Gallery Jorge Albero in Los Angeles, USA (2004). His work has been also on display in the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi (2007).
