"Sagrada Familia Cross"
Decorative artistic pottery |
|
This artistic gift, signed by artist Satorras, was inspired by the work of the brilliant architect Gaudí. The artist was inspired by one of the towers of the Sagrada Familia, whose first stone was laid back in 1882. The crypt is in the neo-Gothic style, although later the style tended towards parabolic and hyperbolic shapes. Gaudí left four towers on the Birth façade. The general blueprints he left, as well as the drawings that are still preserved, have enabled construction to continue. When building finishes, the Sagrada Familia will have eighteen towers, the highest of which will measure 170 metres. This original gift was presented inside a personalised box along with a certificate. |
